Old St. Pat’s Young Adults

Introducing Old St. Patrick’s ministry for young adults in their 20’s and 30’s, married and single. The mission of Old St. Pat’s Young Adult Ministry is to nourish and support the spiritual growth and personal balance of young adults in their 20’s and 30’s by fostering relationships, serving God and others, and exploring the faith journey. This is realized through offering such as speaker events, small faith groups, service opportunities and social gatherings. Contact Keara Coughlin, director of Young Adult Ministry at kearac@oldstpats.org or 312.798.2328.

Theology on Tap 2008

Join us Sunday nights in July for food, drink, and some great conversation — directly following the 5:00 pm Mass, from 6:30-8:30 pm in the OSP Church courtyard (between the Church and Frances Xavier Warde School).

Theology On Tap, a four week speaker and discussion series for young adults, married and single, in their twenties and thirties, is a great Chicago summer tradition around the city. And once again, Old St. Pat’s has the opportunity to host these wonderful nights of conversation, delicious food and drinks, and wonderful community.

A look at our 2008 Summer Lineup:

Week 1: Sunday, July 13
Healthy, Holy Relationships. Are they Possible? Presented by Fr. Pat Marshall

*Week 2: Sunday, July 27:
Sin, Evil & Grace: Presented by Fr. Steve Newton

Week 3: Sunday, August 3:
Who was Oscar Romero? Presented by Ms. Marilu Gonzalez

*Note: there will be no Theology on Tap on the weekend of the World’s Largest Block Party, July 18-19, 2008

If you’re interested in volunteering at Theology on Tap, we would love to have you! Please contact Christina Bax at christina.bax@oldstpats.org.

Can you give a few days
to help rebuild homes on
the Gulf Coast?

We are in the first stages of planning a young-adult volunteer trip to Waveland, Mississippi in early September to continue the rebuilding efforts 3 years after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. We are looking both for people who have experience in construction (i.e. plumbers, electricians, painters, etc.) and for those who are simply willing to work hard. If you might be interested in taking part in this trip, please contact Keara at kearac@oldstpats.org or 312.798.2328 by July 15th.

Sunday Nights at Dugan’s

Come join fellow Old St. Pat’s young adults after the 5 p.m. Mass at Dugan’s Irish Pub.  After Mass we’ll gather on the steps in front of church and walk over to Dugan’s (128 S. Halsted) to hang out and hear more about the Old St. Pat’s young adult scene.  All young adults in their twenties and thirties, married and single are welcome.  Please note that on the second Sunday of the month we will not go to Dugan’s, but instead gather in the church hall for After Five.
