Connecting to the Homeless of Chicago
Saturday, May 22
Connections is working with the Chicago Christian Industrial League (CCIL) to serve a morning meal to their guests on Saturday, May 22. Ten energetic volunteers are needed to serve on the food line, and work in the dish room. Interaction with the residents during and after the meal service is highly encouraged.
Founded in 1909, the CCIL restores families affected by poverty and homelessness by providing comprehensive programs and services empowering people to transform their lives and strengthen the community. CCIL is dedicated to providing structure, support, and a sense of purpose in the lives of the homeless men, women, and families of Chicago. Services provided by CCIL include basic human services, counseling and case management, pre-employment training, and academic and employment training.
Date: Saturday, May 22
Time: 8:45 a.m. to noon
Place: Chicago Christian Industrial League, 2750 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago
Connections will make arrangements for volunteers to carpool from Old St. Pat's on Saturday, May 22. Details to be finalized.
