Volunteers Needed for "Easter with the Bunny"
Saturday, March 27
Marillac Social Center
Once again, the Connections group is hosting the much awaited "Easter with the Bunny" from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 at the Marillac Social Center. The Center focuses on strengthening and empowering children and families on Chicago's West Side, and concentrates on early childhood education, teen mentoring, family support services, and assistance to the elderly. The Marillac Social Center is located at 212 S. Francisco Avenue, Chicago.
"Easter with the Bunny" provides needy families and their children with a traditional Easter breakfast, egg hunt, egg coloring experience, and a visit from the "real" Easter Bunny. Twenty volunteers are needed to make 80 Easter baskets for the children, and assist with various activities. Each volunteer is asked to bring a small Easter basket and "goodies" such as candy, chocolate eggs, and chocolate bunnies to fill the baskets. Volunteering for this event is truly a rewarding experience. Bring your smile and laughter to children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to celebrate Easter's traditions.
