Old St. Patrick’s Church persents the seventeenth annual
Celtic Celebration
Song, Dance and Stories
Symphony Center
Monday, March 11, 2013
220 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL
For nearly 20 years, Old St. Pat’s has celebrated the feast of our patron saint with an event so special we fill Symphony Center on Michigan Avenue year after year. We call it Celtic Celebration —Siamsa na nGael and we do it up grand!
The performance features a narrator, a traditional Irish band, vocal soloists, the Metropolis Symphony Orchestra, Old St. Pat’s Concert Choir, dance, and moving stories and tales that recall and celebrate the wonderful arts the Irish culture has to offer. Additional ethnic cultures are often woven into the celebration creating a marvelous mix of artistry, so typical of the Irish American experience.
With high hopes and “big plans,” we set our sights on forming the Celtic Celebration — Siamsa na aGael Concert Choir, each year, consisting of more than 100 talented and enthusiastic singers. Consider yourself invited to audition, we would love to have you tryout for the Choir.
Auditions and the first rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. Regular rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, thereafter, until the date of the performance. There will be a special rehearsal on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Old St. Pat’s, and on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Symphony Center.
Tickets will go on sale February 4.
