Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly
Elderly people who have outlived their family and friends, sometimes even their own children, are left alone to face the loss of physical abilities and the challenge of tiring minds. Little Brothers matches elders with volunteers who help relieve isolation by providing transportation, visitation, and friendship to elderly participants living in the city. Volunteers also organize and deliver groceries from the pantry, cook and serve meals for holidays and celebrations of life, and accompany their elderly friends on outings to ballgames, museums, and other attractions. Volunteer hours are flexible.
