Tours Of Old St. Pat’s
Old St. Patrick’s Church has stood at the western gateway of Chicago’s Loop for over 150 years. Built seven generations ago, this old city church, a treasure born of the immigrant dream, has welcomed hundreds of thousands of people through its doors who seek a deeper, richer experience of life.
Nothing is more important to the mission of Old St. Patrick’s Church than the hospitality extended to each person who crosses our threshold, whether as a first-time visitor or as a member of the Old St. Pat’s community. We have all been drawn to this special community for different reasons and through different means. You can become a part of Old St. Pat’s through worship, by volunteering for a community outreach program, or attending one of the many programs offered here. Our current generation of members joins with those of the past in striving to build an experience of church that is genuinely welcoming, mission oriented, and Christ centered. Whatever brought you to Old St. Patrick’s Church, know you are welcome.
Jim McLaughlin, an Old St. Pat’s docent, has been a member of the church since1994. He started volunteering in 1994 by tutoring at our sharing parish partner, St. Agatha’s on Chicago’s West side. He oversees the docent program at Old St. Patrick’s Church. Jim and other docents are available to give tours between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Tours can be arranged with a weeks notice. If you wish to schedule a tour, please call Jim at 630.852.7269 or email him at j-jmclaughlin@comcast.net.
